# External Item Master
# Create an external item
From the top menu navigate to the External Items screen
From the right hand side of the Navigation Bar select the "+" icon
A pop-up will appear where you can enter the details of the New External Item Mapping
Start by typing in the item number for which you want to add the mapping
Then select the customer number for which you want to add the mapping
A new row will appear where you can add the external item number
The external item number can be used to have a mapping between the item numbers used by your customers and your own item numbers. For example you can sell the same item (Item X) to 2 different customers (Customer 1 and Customer 2) and they use their own item numbers for Item X (Item 1X and Item 2X respectively). Your sales order for customer 1 can have a reference to Item 1X, with the external item mapping you can directly process the sales order from Customer 1 with Item 1X and automatically translate this item to Item X in our system. Similar for a sales order from Customer 2 that references Item 2X.
To delete an external item mapping from an item simply click on the trash can icon
A pop-up will appear for confirming the action
# Edit an external item
From the top menu navigate to the External Items screen
Hover over the item you want to edit and on the right hand side click on the edit icon
A pop-up will appear with the mapping details of that item, you can update the external customer numbers as well as add new ones or delete existing ones
To delete a mapping simply click on the trash can icon next to it
A pop-up will appear for confirming the action
If you want to add a new mapping start typing the customer number for which you need the mapping
Once you hit enter or select the new customer it will appear in the list and you can add the mapping
# View mappings for an item
From the top menu navigate to the External Items screen
Select the item you want to see and click on the "+" icon
The screen will expand and you can see the details of one or multiple customers at the same time
# Delete all mappings for an item
From the top menu navigate to the External Items screen
Hover over the item you want to delete and on the right hand side click on the trash can icon
A pop-up will appear for confirming the action
# Bulk upload data
